Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Summary: Fiercely unique in its premise, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a romantic musical comedy driven by its talented lead actress, co-creator and writer, Rachel Bloom. In its debut season, Bloom won the Golden Globe for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy (2016) for her hilarious portrayal of Rebecca Bunch, the titular ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’. The show’s plot revolves around a chance encounter Rebecca has with her high school ex-boyfriend. After this meeting, she decides to pack up her successful life in New York City to follow him back to his hometown in California. The show’s witty dialogue combined with hysterical original songs come together to make it a hit.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

From the deadpan delivery of Captain Holt to the rivalry between colleagues, the show’s impressive ensemble cast and writing team have outdone themselves. We’ll be seeing more of it with NBC recently announcing they’ll be renewing the show for a sixth season.

It’s another show about a crazy, atypical family; but it’s gold. The show’s widely regarded as one of the greatest inspirations and influences of many future critically acclaimed comedies such as 30 Rock and Community.

How I Met Your Mother

It’s received numerous nominations (it’s up for two upcoming Golden Globes) and awards for its current three-season run, most notably the Television Critics Associations’ Outstanding Achievement in Comedy (2018). Smartly written, an outstanding cast, pop culture references galore and one of the biggest twist endings to a season of television ever, The Good Place is sure to be an easy watch for anyone and everyone.
